One of our favorite ways of using the sea moss gel is as a self-care tool, as a face mask! Gliding the sea moss on our freshly washed face is soothing and allows for a space where you can be completely present and in the moment. Did you know sea moss has been considered nature’s Botox? Certain minerals in sea moss help to re-hydrate our skin and tighten pores, all while making our skin feel more supple and look more radiant. To name a few- sulfur, magnesium, calcium (the absorbable calcium), Vitamin A, and Vitamin K- are ingredients that aid in reducing wrinkles, protecting from environmental elements, and hydrating your beautiful skin. Start checking out your beauty products and sun screen to see if they have Chondrus Crispus😉
Step One: Wash your lovely face with warm water and/or add in your fave facial cleanser. We used Tropicgyal Naturals Oil Cleanser
Step Two: Scoop a tablespoon to 2 tablespoons worth of sea moss gel into a measuring cup or small bowl
(optional) Step Two Point Five: use facial steamer to open pores, increase circulation, and help your skin better absorb the sea moss gel
Step Three: Glide the sea moss gel onto your beautiful face. Notice the cool sensations and smooth texture. What else do you notice?
Step Four: Set your timer for 20-25 minutes (ideally, you want the sea moss gel to dry if you can wait this long)
Step Five: Relax * Inhale Deeply ** Exhale Deeply while thinking “I am beautiful” ** Inhale Deeply ** And Exhale Deeply while thinking “I am worthy of love”
~Feel free to insert your favorite self-love affirmations and do this as long as you feel comfortable~
Step Six: Is it dry? You’ll know- your face will feel tight and you’ll look like a ventriloquist if you try to talk. Get it? Ventriloquists are the people that can talk without moving their mouths (lol- slaps knee)
Step Seven: Rinse your face with warm water and gently pat dry with a towel
If you like cold water, use this at the end of the skin care regimen since cold water can cause your skin to retract temporarily. This can be beneficial if you need a refresher AND/OR if your skin looks puffy and wants a little tightening. However, warm water balances your natural skin oils and helps to more effectively remove dirt and buildup.
Key Takeaway: warm water is ideal.
(optional) Step Seven Point Five: use facial toner to help balance the pH of the skin (really beneficial for acne-prone skin)
Step Eight: Ever-so gently, apply moisturizer to your beautifully, glowing face. We used Tropicgyal Naturals Facial Serum!
Last Step: Look in the mirror in admiration! You did it!
